The competent Nurse practices independently within a clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while managing long-term goals and contingency plans.
Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care according to ANA standards.
Addresses patients’ psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs, administering medications, monitoring effects, and documenting care.
Provides patient and family education, identifying needs and resources.
Ensures adherence to competencies such as self-leadership and team leadership.
Requires a BSN (preferred), 1+ year of related experience, BLS certification, and RN licensure (state or compact).
