POSITION SUMMARY: The role involves assessing and treating neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems using physical or mechanical methods to restore function impaired by injury or disease, focusing on pain management and mobility enhancement as directed by a physician. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and monitoring care plans, administering physical therapy modalities, and collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • EDUCATION: Doctorate, Masters, Bachelors, or Associates Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current New Mexico Physical Therapist licensure & BLS certification required.
  • SKILLS: Strong assessment, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.
  • EXPERIENCE: None required.
  • SUPERVISION: Reports to Director/Manager Rehabilitation Services.
  • ENVIRONMENT: Clean, well-ventilated, potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous chemicals.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Good physical condition, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and manage patient transfers.
