POSITION SUMMARY: The role involves treating neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems through physical or mechanical means to restore function impaired by injury or disease, under the direction of a physical therapist. Responsibilities include following the care plan, administering physical therapy modalities, and collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree from a Physical Therapist Assistant Program
  • CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current New Mexico Physical Therapist Assistant licensure & BLS certification
  • SKILLS: Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; accountability in assessment and decision-making
  • EXPERIENCE: None required

    • ENVIRONMENT: Clean, well-ventilated, smoke-free; potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous chemicals.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Good physical condition; ability to lift and transfer patients and equipment up to 50 lbs.
