Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides treatment for neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems to restore function, manage pain, and promote mobility as prescribed by a physician and directed by a physical therapist. Responsible for following the patient’s care plan and collaborating with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree from a Physical Therapist Assistant Program
  • CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Current New Mexico Physical Therapist Assistant licensure & BLS certification
  • SKILLS: Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; accountability in assessment and decision-making
  • EXPERIENCE: None required

    • SUPERVISION: Reports to Director/Manager, Rehab Services

    ENVIRONMENT: Clean, well-ventilated, potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous chemicals

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Good physical condition; ability to lift and transfer patients and equipment up to 50 lbs.
