Job Description

This practical nursing role involves providing patient care within established guidelines under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.

  • Partners with RNs in data collection, planning, implementing, and evaluating care across all age groups.
  • Participates in the nursing process, contributes to care plans, and identifies educational needs for patients, residents, and families.
  • Implements prescribed treatments, administers medications, and advocates for patient rights and support.
  • Contributes to quality improvement and supports organizational initiatives.
  • Supports the orientation and development of team members.

    • Requirements include graduation from an accredited practical nursing program, Virginia licensure, and BLS certification. De-escalation training in Psychiatry and Behavioral Health must be completed within four months of hire. No prior experience required, but orientation and competency assessments are necessary.
